It’s still the same URL – type in http://www.g-blogs.com on your web browser.
Same login, too! Use your myGlobe username or existing G-Blogs username plus your password.

We have temporarily disabled G-Blogs’ SMS/MMS and WAP blogging service, as we prepare for the enhancements which we will be launching soon. For now, you may access G-Blogs via the Web at the same URL – http://www.g-blogs.com – we’ll also keep you posted from there, so please do visit us on the Web once in a while ^_^
No. If you’re an existing G-Blogs user, you don’t need to register a new account with G-Blogs. Just use your old G-Blogs username and password. Once you have accessed your Dashboard, you will have an option to export your old posts from your old blog to the new blog.
No worries! Signing-up an account is just EASY.
From G-Blogs Homepage, click on the “Sign up for an account” button. You will be redirected to myGlobe registration page. Complete the required information until you have successfully created a myGlobe account. At the end of myGlobe registration process, a link to G-Blogs Sign-in page will be present, click this link. Once you’ve accessed G-Blogs sign-in page, login using your myGlobe username and password. Enter the necessary information such as your blog URL, blog title and description, then hit “Sign-Up” button.
The most probable cause is that you may have already registered the e-mail address you are using with G-Blogs. The current system only allows one e-mail address per username. If you have forgotten your username, contact us at gtg-blogs@globetel.com.ph.
After logging on to G-Blogs, you will be redirected to the Dashboard. On the main navigation, you will see the “Write” link. Click on this link, and it will expand showing another set of links. “Write Post” page will be displayed by default. Start creating your posts using the text editor. You can either use the visual or HTML editor for your articles. Also, you will have an option to insert a photo or video using the media uploader (look for ADD MEDIA to upload your photos).
In the main navigation bar (upper left side), you will see the “Design” link. Click on the link and you will be redirected to “Themes” page. Your current design template will be shown on top of the page. To change the theme, you can just select a theme by clicking on the available themes displayed in the page.
You can edit your G-Blogs settings from your Dashboard. On the opposite side (right side) of the main navigation bar are three links. Click on “Settings”, this link will allow you to edit the general, writing, reading, discussion, privacy, permalinks, miscellaneous, etc, settings of your blog.
No, you can’t. Once already registered to myGlobe, you are not allowed to change your username anymore since this is the only unique identifier of your account.
Assigning other users to your blog is very simple. On the opposite side (right side) of the main navigation bar are three links. Click on “Users”, the default page is for managing users of your blog. To assign a user, type the e-mail address of another user then select a role for this user. There are six roles to choose from: subscriber, administrator, editor, author, contributor and premium subscriber. Click on “Add User” to save them to your blog.
Make sure that you are inside the “Write Post” page. To insert photos into your post, look for Add Media, beside this text is an icon that looks like a star/asterisk. Click on this icon to open the media uploader. The tools for uploading photo will be displayed in a pop-up window.
There are two ways of inserting a photo to your post using the media uploader:
1) The first way is to pick a photo from your computer by clicking on “Choose files to upload” button.
You will be prompted to select a photo from your computer. After you have selected a photo, a bar showing the progress of your upload will appear.
Once you have successfully uploaded the photo, the page will generate a form for customizing the photo’s title (this is required), caption and description. You also have an option to modify the layout in your post (left, center or right) or change the size of the photo (it is recommended to use thumbnail setting for large-sized photos).
After filing-up the necessary information, click on “Insert to post” button. The photo will be inserted to your post automatically.
Don’t forget to save the changes you’ve made.
2) Another way is to select a photo from your media library (assuming that you have already posted a number of photos in the media uploader). The media library displays a list of media files, each file has a corresponding “Show” link. Click on this link, a form page (similar to #1) will appear containing the details of the media file. You have an option to modify the details there. After you have modified the information, click on “Insert to post” button. The photo will be inserted to your post automatically.
You can adjust the size by clicking the photo until a black border with small squares around appears. To reduce the size, drag one small square (make sure you drag the square that is located at the upper left portion of the photo) to the center until the photo gets smaller in size. To increase the size, do otherwise.
In order for PodPress Plugin to work, you need to activate it first. On the opposite side (right side) of the main navigation bar are three links, select “Plugins” link. The details of PodPress plugin will be displayed in a table form; activate it by clicking on “Activate” link in the Action column. The color of the row will change from white to green, this means that the plugin is already activated. The link to PodPress settings will also be automatically displayed in the main navigation bar, manage the iTune/Feed, general and player settings of PodPress from there.
You can use either PodPress or the Media Uploader to upload a video/audio file to your post.
Using the Media Uploader, you can upload a video in 2 simple steps:
Make sure that you are inside the “Write Post” page. To insert an audio/video into your post, look for Add Media, beside this text is an icon that looks like a star/asterisk. Click on this icon to open the media uploader. The tools for uploading an audio/video will be displayed in a pop-up window.
Step 1. To upload, choose a video/audio file from your computer (by clicking on “Choose files to Upload” button) or from the media library (whichever is applicable to you).
Step 2. Once the video/audio file is already uploaded, fill up the necessary information such as title, caption or description (this is not applicable if the file came from the media library). Finally, click on “Insert to Post” button. The video/audio file will be inserted to your post automatically.
Using PodPress, you can upload a video in 3 simple steps:
Step 1. Open the media uploader, browse an audio/video file from your computer (or from the media library). Once you have uploaded the file, it will open a form page wherein you can edit the title, add caption or description.
Step 2. Copy the content in the LINK URL field, e.g. http:// g-blogs.com/gblogs/julesie/files/2008/07/clock4.avi and close the media uploader.
Step 3. Scroll down the page until you see the section for adding Podcasts (Podcasting Section). Click on “Add Media File” button. Once this button is clicked, it will expand and show a form for adding a media file. Paste the URL that you copied a while ago in Location field. Select a media type from Type drop-down menu box. For Size and Duration, click on “Auto Detect” button and it will automatically reflect the size and duration of the media file. These are the only important information that you need to provide. Once you’re done, PUBLISH your post. The video or audio file will be reflected in your post.
Of course you can! It’s possible to upload a video from your YouTube account using PodPress Plugin in 2 simple steps!
Step 1. Copy the YouTube URL from the address bar (e.g. http://youtube.com/watch?v=8nTFjVm9sTQ).
Step 2. Go back to “Write Post” page. Scroll down the page until you see the section for adding Podcasts (Podcasting Section). Click on “Add Media File” button. Once this button is clicked, it will expand and show a form for adding a media file. Paste the URL that you copied a while ago from YouTube in Location field. Once you’re done, PUBLISH your post.
IMPORTANT: Don’t forget to write the TITLE of your post. Otherwise, the YouTube video won’t be posted successfully.
G-Blogs supports the following media files: mp3, flv, Quicktime mov, mpeg4, m4v, m4a, m4b, 3gp, wmv, avi, and asf.
It can also support the following media players: YouTube, Google Video, iFilm, Revver, Metacafe, MySpace and GoEar. To add these type of media players, switch to HTML editor. Look for Media from the toolbar and click it. A pop-up window will appear, enter the HTTP address or player URL and click OK.
There’s none. Your storage is actually unlimited ☺ This means you can post as many photos and audiovisual files as many as you want. But note that the total size of the files you upload at any given time should not exceed 10MB. That means if you are to upload two 10MB audiovisual files, you must upload them one after the other onto your site.
Yes. If you haven’t done so yet, you should see the Import box on your dashboard, giving you instructions on how to have your previous G-Blogs posts onto your G-Blogs 2.0 site. Your previous posts will appear onto your new site within 24 hours after you triggered the system to import the posts for you..
WP-Cache is a plugin. Wordpress, the software that powers G-Blogs, has a very efficient structure. But there are times when the server is slow. This is where the importance of WP Cache plugin comes in.
This plugin saves your blog’s pages on a static file. Instead of loading the dynamic database pages, it serves visitor requests from that file. This improves the speed and responsiveness of your blog.
NextGen Gallery is a wordpress plugin that can help you organize the pictures you upload in a breeze. You group your pics by gallery and your galleries by albums. It also allows you to upload compressed folders (zip files) at once. It sets up a clean-looking picture gallery on your blog.
Events Calendar is a plugin that displays a simple yet useful virtual calendar. With this, you can add a list of events to your blog so you and your readers will be reminded of important dates!
On the dashboard, click on the “Plugins” on the upper right section of your screen. Then look for these plugins and click on “Activate” one at a time.
Once activated, you will find menu tabs that correspond to the plugins. You may change its settings according to your preferences.
Next, click on the “Designs” tab, and then on “Widgets.” Find the plugins you have just installed and click “Add” right beside it. Don’t forget to hit “Save Changes.”
And then, voila! You now have an Event Calendar, a NextGen Gallery and a WP Cache plugin!
